Amazon, the e-commerce behemoth, has carried out its very first “real” drone delivery in the area of Cambridge, in the United Kingdom.
It was right here a few months earlier, during the summer of 2016, that the first test flights were carried out. The delivery was made just 13 minutes after the online order was made.
The drone that delivered the package flew at an altitude of 400 feet (about 122 metres). The delivery was made on 7th December, but the video shared by Amazon that shows the various stages of its journey was published a few days later.
When technology helps us to improve our daily lives (in this case, deliveries), it gives us a real reason to get excited.
